International Puzzle Month — Weekly Heats
Four weeks of weekly competitive heats, workshops, and overnight campouts. Final qualifying round for the Canadian National. Workshop content cuts across all four pillars — recreational, competitive, learning, economic.
Who
Speed puzzlers, workshop participants, families.
What
12+ heats, 8+ workshops, 1 weekend campout.
Why come
The build-up to the city's biggest weekend.
The four weeks lead directly into the IPM 2027 finale weekend (Jan 29–30). Each Saturday holds the week's main heat; weekday workshops are smaller and more skill-focused (sorting strategies, team roles, pace budgets). The weekend campout — held mid-month at a partner venue — is sold-out predictable: bring a sleeping bag, leave with a podium spot.
Workshop topics rotate across the four pillars: speed-puzzle drills (Competitive), kids' design-thinking labs (Project-Based Learning), drop-in tables for Calgarians who just want to play (Recreational), and a pop-up mini Coffee-Pilot table (Economic / Creative Impact).
